REA’s March Auction Highlighted by Rare Ruth & Wagner Cards

Chester, NJ - March 14, 2024 - REA’s March Encore Auction opened Thursday offering nearly 3,400 items spanning back to 1888 N28 Allen & Ginter cards of Hall of Famers John Clarkson and John Montgomery Ward (Lots 8 & 9) all the way up to modern football cards, including a 2000 Bowman Chrome Football #236 Tom Brady Rookie BGS GEM MINT 9.5 (Lot 43). Two of the most exciting items in the auction both feature Honus Wagner: a 1911 M110 Sporting Life Cabinet Honus Wagner PSA GOOD 2 (MK) (Lot 1) and a 1910-1911 M116 Sporting Life Honus Wagner Pastel Background SGC EX/NM 6 (Lot 3).



For fans of The Great Bambino, the auction includes several exciting Babe Ruth cards, notably a 1921 Schapira Bros. Candy Babe Ruth Waiting For a High One Partial Box (Lot 23), and three rare strip cards of Ruth including a 1920 W519-1 #5 (Lot 22), 1921 W516-2-1 #10 (Lot 24), and a 1922 W522 #48 (Lot 25), all of which are available in affordable grades. There’s also a 1935 R332 Schutter-Johnson Candy #26 Babe Ruth PSA GOOD 2 (Lot 28) and a 1933 V353 World Wide Gum Canadian Goudey #80 Babe Ruth PSA EX-NM 6 (Lot 2), both with fantastic color and overall eye appeal.


The event will run through Sunday, March 24 with all initial bids due by 9 PM ET.

REA’s March Auction includes almost 700 T206 cards, including seven Carolina Brights and a Ty Cobb Bat Off Shoulder PSA EX 5 with a Tolstoi Back (Lot 4). There is also a rare example of the Cy Young Bare Hand Shows version featuring the name on the top and bottom.
