Silver Spring, MD - July 18, 2024 - Huggins & Scott’s Summer Catalog Auction opened today with more than 1,800 lots of vintage sport and non-sport collectibles. A strong mix of cards is presented for bid alongside a wide selection of notable game-used items, including a fantastic Pete Rose Cincinnati Reds signed Louisville Slugger bat that the all-time hits leader used between 1965 and 1968.
Collectors will have an opportunity to bid on an array of cards ranging from the hobby’s most iconic, from a 1935 National Chicle Football #34 Bronko Nagurski PSA VG-EX 4 and 1968 Topps #177 Nolan Ryan Rookie PSA NM-MT 8, to some of the more elusive, such as a 1980 Charlotte O's Police Orange Border Cal Ripken Jr. Minor League Rookie PSA EX-MT+ 6.5.
Non-sport collectibles also have a strong presence in this event, including a wide selection of coins and comics, including a 1908 $20 St. Gaudens Gold Double Eagle and numerous titles from the Eastern Color Famous Funnies and Archie series. Other highlights include a 1999 Pokémon French First Edition base set factory-sealed booster box - one of several Pokemon lots in the auction - to a Martin Luther King Jr. boldly signed 1958 'Stride Toward Freedom' hardcover book with full JSA LOA.
The event will run through Thursday, August 1 with initial bids closing at 9 PM ET.
